The word audit is derived from the Latin word “audire” which means “to hear”.

We listen to your needs and understand your business.

Audit is a systematic examination of your systems, accounts, operations and every aspect of your business.

Today the requirement to be audited depends on whether your business exceeds the audit threshold. Some businesses also choose to have an audit regardless of the threshold.

Our audit approach is rigorous and detailed, ensuring we fully understand your business inside and out to provide you with our opinion.  We also tailor our approach to minimise any disruption to your business. Anstey Bond LLP is regulated by the ICAEW in all of the audit work that we do so you can feel rest assured by the quality our work.

Research and Development Tax Relief

The SME R&D tax credit scheme is designed to encourage innovation and increase spending on R&D activities by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Eligible SMEs can deduct an extra 86% of their qualifying R&D costs from their yearly profit, in addition to the normal 100% deduction, making a total deduction of 186%.

If the company is loss-making, it can claim a tax credit worth up to 14.5% of the surrenderable loss, provided it meets the intensity condition. The company’s relevant R&D expenditure (plus that of any connected companies) must be at least 40% of the total relevant expenditure.

The tax relief for SMEs is set out in Part 13 of the Corporation Tax Act (CTA) 2009. The RDEC is provided for in Chapter 6A of Part 3 of CTA 2009.

For accounting periods beginning on or after 1 April 2024, the SME scheme will be replaced by enhanced R&D intensive support, which is only available to loss-making R&D intensive SMEs.

It’s important for SMEs to ensure that their R&D activities qualify under the scheme and to maintain proper documentation to support their claims. Collaborating with ansteybond ensures that your R&D tax claim is optimally positioned for success, guaranteeing that your enterprise capitalises on the full extent of the grant available.

Please note, the information provided herein should not serve as a sole basis for tax planning decisions, as each company’s specific circumstances may vary

What our customers say about us

ansteybond have been our accountant and bookkeeping partners since we became a ltd company 2 years ago and they helped us with the transition. In every respect they deliver fantastic, efficient and accurate service. There’s always a quick response to queries and no question is too basic to receive a considered and full response. As a small business dealing with both UK and overseas customers and employing a small team of staff and associates, we were looking for a financial services partner who could deliver us peace of mind that all of our financial transactions, VAT payments, tax, expenses and salaries were up to date and accurate. We found this in ansteybond. I highly recommend them.
Joe Nagle

Operations Manager, the INNOVATION BEEHIVE

ansteybond have provided a professional and friendly service as our auditors. We have absolute confidence in their ability to manage our annual audit and are always on hand to answer additional questions and queries where necessary. We would recommended them to other organisations

Francesca Clark

The feedback that I get from my clients about ansteybond is that they really ‘get’ their businesses. They are able to understand what they need and give them clear advice in plain English – they don’t talk ‘Accountantese’!

I never have any qualms in introducing ansteybond to my clients, the team provides a great service that I highly recommend.

Having worked with ansteybond for a number of years now I have always found them supportive, proactive and knowledgeable. As a growing business we have been through a number of changes recently including the implementation of a new accounting system. The team has helped us through these changes providing advice and assistance in clear “non-accountancy speak” whilst always making us feel that he has the time and patience to ensure we understand each element of the changes. I would highly recommend ansteybond to any growing business.

Scott Lavery

Director, Austin Rose

Working with a number of accountancy firms during the years, domestically and outside of the UK, I find ansteybond to be the most attentive to our company’s needs.  It should not be taken for granted where an accountancy firm pays attention to a company’s overall needs and assists in identifying the company’s current and potential risks and exposure. Our dedicated team have always supported us during the growing challenges of our industry.
Yuval Hatuka

ansteybond is more of a therapist / advisor / deal broker and they have supported me and my various businesses. I regularly call them and they are always available to hear my latest plans for world domination.
